Belém Tower (벨렘 탑)

벨렘 탑은 포르투갈 리스본 지역의 벨렘에 위치한 요새 탑입니다. 대항해 시대 (Age of Discovery) 의 등장을 나타내는 포루투갈 바다역사에 중대한 역할을 하였기 때문에, (근처 제르니모스 수도원과 함께) 유네스코 세계유산 (UNESCO Heritage Site, 유네스코 세계 문화유산) 으로 지정되었습니다. 이 탑은 16세기 초기에 지어졌고, 보루 (bastion) 로 구성되었으며 높이는 30m (98피트) 되는 탑입니다. 이 탑은 리스본의 수호 성인인 성 빈센치오(빈센트) (patron saint of Lisbon, St Vincent) 를 위한 것이며, 바스코 다가마 (Vasco de Gama)의 여행을 기념합니다.

Belém Tower is a fortified tower located in the Belém district of Lisbon, Portugal. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site (along with the nearby Jerónimos Monastery) because of the significant role it played in the Portuguese maritime exploits of the era of the Age of Discovery. The tower was built in the early 16th century and is composed of a bastion and the 30 m (98 ft) tall tower. It is dedicated to the patron saint of Lisbon, St Vincent, and commemorates the expedition of Vasco de Gama.
