사진에 포미움 꽃의 줄기에 앉아 있으면서 정수리에 꽃가루로 덮혀 있는걸로 보이는 새는 뉴 홀랜드 허니이터(Phylidonyris novaehollandiae) 로 호주 남부에 사는 꿀빨이새 종입니다. 과학적으로 호주 태생이라고 설명되어지는 첫번째 새입니다. 길이는 18cm (7.1 인치) 이고 전체적으로 검으며, 하얀 홍채, 하얀 다발과 날개와 꼬리털에 노란색의 여백을 가지고 있습니다.

A New Holland Honeyeater (Phylidonyris novaehollandiae), a honeyeater species native to southern Australia, sitting on a flowering stalk of Phormium tenax with its crown dusted by pollen. It was the first bird in Australia to be scientifically described. It is around 18 cm (7.1 in) long, is mainly black, with a white iris, white facial tufts, and yellow margins on its wing and tail feathers.
