샤프슈터 (Shartshooter, 사진에 나온건 오코메토피아 오르보나 - Oncometopia orbona) 는 프로코니이니 족(과와 종 사이 분류) (tribe Proconiini) 에 속하는 멸구들을 말합니다. 모든 애벌래들(nymphs) 은 그들의 소화 체계가 다양한 식물 종에 있는 영영분 흔적을 추출하기 위해, 엄청난 양의 물을 이용해 이를 희석하여 걸러 먹는 방식으로써 살아갑니다. 그들의 몸에서 다량의 수분과 탄수화물이 강제로 작은 방울로 분출되기에, 그들이 그 통칭(Shartshooter) 을 얻게되었습니다.

Sharpshooters (Oncometopia orbona pictured) are leafhoppers that belong to the tribe Proconiini. Both nymphs and adults feed on a variety of plant species by filtering a huge volume of dilute liquid through their digestive system to extract the trace nutrients. Much of the water and carbohydrates are then squirted forcibly away from the body in a fine stream of droplets, thus earning them their common name
