유럽, 북아메리카와 일본에 거쳐 발견되는 노랑등에과의 암컷 Chrysopilus (크레사필러스) 종 입니다. 그들은 가냘픈 몸체와 기둥-같은 다리를 가지고 있습니다. 구기는 뚫기 적합하게 적응되었으며, 많은 종들은 성인이 되었을 때 흡혈성을 가지지만 그외 다른 종들은 다른 곤충들을 먹는 육식성을 가집니다.

A female Chrysopilus species of snipe fly, a family of true flies that are found throughout Europe, North America, and Japan. They have slender bodies and stilt-like legs. The mouthparts are adapted for piercing and many species are haematophagous as adults, while others are predatory on other insects.
