흰목벌잡이새 (Merops bullockoides - 머롭스 불록코이데스) 는 벌잡이새(벌새, bee-eater) 의 한 종으로 아적도(적도근처)의 아프리카 (Africa) 에 넓리 분포되어 있습니다. 이들은 독특한 흰이마와, 사각꼬리와 목에 있는 밝은 붉은 점을 가지고 있습니다. 이름에서 나와있듯이, 그들의 밥(음식물)은 우선적으로 벌이며, 다른 나르는 곤충들도 먹습니다. 그들은 보통 200여마리 정도로 군락(bird colony)을 이뤄 살아가고 있으며 벼랑 또는 경사지(banks of earth) 에 구멍을 파서 서식하고, 복잡한 사회구조를 가지고 있습니다.

The White-fronted Bee-eater (Merops bullockoides) is a species of bee-eater widely distributed in sub-equatorial Africa. They have a distinctive white forehead, a square tail and a bright red patch on their throat. As the name suggests, their diet consists primarily of bees and other flying insects. They nest in colonies averaging 200 individuals, digging roosting and nesting holes in cliffs or banks of earth, and have a complex social structure.
