두 호모뉴라 (Homoneura, 큰날개파리) 종의 파리들이 짝짖기를 하고 있는 모습입니다. 호모뉴라 종은 공통적으로 두가지의 특징을 가진 파리 종들의 방대한 집단인 아칼립트라테 (Acalyptratae) 분과에 속하는 종입니다: 칼립터(calypter, 날개)가 부족하고, 이들 중에 흡혈해야만 하는 것 종은 없습니다. 후자 부분 (흡혈 안하는 부분) 현존하는 파리목 (Diptera, 쌍시류)을 통틀어서 놀라운 생명 역사입니다.

Two Homoneura species flies mating. The genus Homoneura belongs to the subsection Acalyptratae, a diverse collection of fly species that have two traits in common: they lack calypters, and none of them are obligate blood-feeders. The latter is surprising in that this is a life history that is common throughout the remaining Diptera.
