슐레른은 이탈리아 볼차노-보젠 현 내 돌로미티(돌로미테 알프스, 돌로미티케 산맥) 지역에 있는 2,563m 의 높은 산입니다. 돌로미티는 이탈리아 북부에 위치한 알프스의 한 지역입니다. 돌로미티(Dolomites, 백운암들)라는 이름은 이 거대한 석회암 산맥의 특징인 백운암(돌로미티) 광물을 처음으로 설명한 프랑스의 광물학자 데오다 그라테 드 돌로미외(Deodat de Dolomieu, Déodat Gratet de Dolomieu)의 이름에서 유래했습니다.

The Schlern is a 2,563m high mountain of the Dolomites in Bolzano-Bozen, Italy. The Dolomites are a section of the Alps in northern Italy. The name Dolomites is derived from the French mineralogist Deodat de Dolomieu who was the first to describe the mineral Dolomite which is responsible for the characteristic shapes of these great limestone mountains.

백운암을 Dolomite 라 부르며, 돌로미테 알프스는 백운암인 Dolomite 의 복수형인 Dolomites 라고 표기합니다.
