의역)
저녁 하늘이 붉으면 배 선원들은 즐거워하지만, 아침 하늘이 붉으면 배 선원들은 긴장합니다. 붉은 하늘은 태양 광선이 대기의 가장 두꺼운 부분을 통과하는 해뜨거나 해가질 때 우선적으로 나타납니다. 날씨 민담에서 붉은 아침 하늘은 비가 오는 잘 맞는 징조라 하고, 저녁의 붉은 하늘은 보통 맑은 하늘이라는 표시로 알려지고 있습니다.

Red sky at night, sailors delight. Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning. A red sky occurs primarily at sunrise or sunset, when the sun's rays are passing through the greatest thickness of atmosphere. weather lore 을 직접 가리키는 우리말은 없지만, 제비가 낮게 날거나 어르신들의 허리가 아프때면 비가 온다는 식의 민담 형태로 잘 알려져 있습니다.
