Khokar Rajputs (코카르 라스푸트 족)

1876년 펀자브의 코카르 라스푸트 족을 묘사한 판화입니다. 라스푸트 족은 인도의 주요 힌두 크샤트리야 (전사) 들 중에 하나입니다. 라스푸트 족은 9 ~ 11세기 동안의 인도 독립운동 기간 중에, 약 600여개의 토후국가(princely state)들 중 전체 살루트 국(salute state)들의 3/4 을 포함하여 2/3 이상 장악하는 활동을 했습니다.

An 1876 engraving of Khokar Rajputs of Punjab. The Rajputs are one of the major Hindu Kshatriya (warrior) groups of India. Rajputs rose to prominence during the 9th to 11th centuries, and by the time of Indian independence, they ruled more than two-thirds of the estimated six hundred princely states, including three-quarters of the salute states.

princely state 를 번왕국, 라이가르 태수국이라고 번역한 페이지가 있으나 600개라는 단어와 맞지 않아서 토후국으로 번역했습니다. 살루트 국은 우리말에 없지만, state 가 국가라는 뜻을 살려 살루트 국이라는 단어를 사용했습니다.
