로토스-남만(Lotus-Namam)은 어야버로이의 상징이며, 19세기의 남 인도지방에서 유래된 다르마(Dharmic, 달마,법 - 불교) 신앙체계입니다. 연꽃(로토스, lotus) 는 1,008 개의 꽃잎으로 표현된 사하스라라(Sahasrara, 제 7 차크라 - 중심점) 를 상징하고, 불꽃-모습의 흰 남만(Namam) 은 가끔 '영혼' 또는 '자신'이라고 번역되는 안마 죠티(Aanma Jyothi) 또는 아트만(atman) 을 상징합니다. 인구조사 중에 어야버로이가 흰두교로 보고가 되었기 때문에 정확한 숫자는 모르지만,  약 70만에서 80만명의 수행자가 있다고 예측됩니다.

The Lotus-Namam is the symbol of Ayyavazhi, a Dharmic belief system that originated in South India in the 19th century. The lotus represents the 1,008-petalled Sahasrara and the flame-shaped white Namam represents the Aanma Jyothi or ātman, sometimes translated as 'soul' or 'self'. The number of practitioners is estimated to be between 700,000 and 8,000,000, although the exact number is unknown, since Ayyavazhis are reported as Hindus during censuses.

Ayyavazhi 는 우리말이 검색이 되지 않아서 외래어를 그대로 가져왔는데, 네이버에서 검색된 '아야바지', IPA 발음(əjːaːvəɻi)에 근접한 '어야버로이'와 일본어 발음에 근접한 '아이야바리'(アイヤーヴァリ)를 같이 표기했습니다. 나머지 용어는 외래어 발음 그대로 표기했습니다.
